Department of Reproductive Medicine aims at catering for couple who has challenges in conceiving. The team of Reproductive Medicine consultants and supporting staff address the problems of subfertile couples who are having familial, social, and psychological stress due to the inability to become parents of a baby. The priority of the team is to serve such couples with warmth while ensuring the confidentiality of the details.
Subfertility has emerged as a major challenge in today's life due to various factors ranging from congenital problems with either husband or wife to environmental and lifestyle impacts on the reproductive ability. While most couples seek the help of a gynaecologist initially to tackle the difficulty in getting a pregnancy, the advanced treatment options suggested by the gynaecologist are provided by a well-equipped, quality-oriented ART(Assisted Reproductive Techniques) centre. Polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD) which leads to failure to ovulate, Endometriosis, uterine fibroids, etc. are some of the common causes which lead to sub-fertility among female partners while male factors, predominantly altered semen parameters, are also contributing to about 20% of infertility. Another issue that may not be addressed many a time is the various difficulties in having proper sexual intercourse either due to some anatomical problems or lack of awareness.
The Department of Reproductive Medicine at Kinder Kochi is powered by a well qualified and trained clinical and supporting team of staff to provide various ART services like counselling
